Overview

FeeHunt is designed as a privacy-first desktop application that helps users identify subscriptions, payment-control emails, promotional clutter, and future phishing-risk patterns.

Local Processing

FeeHunt processes Gmail scan results locally on the user's computer. Email analysis, scan results, settings, and license metadata are designed to remain on the user's device unless a future feature clearly states otherwise.

Gmail Access

FeeHunt uses OAuth-based Gmail access. Users authorize access through Google. FeeHunt does not ask for or store Gmail passwords. OAuth tokens may be stored locally so FeeHunt can connect to Gmail after authorization.

Google User Data

FeeHunt accesses the following Google user data through Gmail OAuth:

• Gmail message metadata and content (read-only) to identify subscription-related emails, billing notices, and promotional clutter.
• FeeHunt requests only the minimum OAuth scopes necessary: Gmail read access (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly) and Gmail modify access for user-initiated actions (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.modify).

Data Sharing and Disclosure

FeeHunt does not share, transfer, sell, or disclose Google user data to any third parties. All Gmail analysis is performed locally on the user's device. No email content or metadata is transmitted to FeeHunt servers.

Data Protection and Security

FeeHunt protects sensitive Google user data (your Gmail messages and metadata) using the following security mechanisms:

• Encryption in transit: All communication with the Gmail API is performed over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.
• Encryption at rest: Your Gmail OAuth authorization token is stored on your device encrypted at rest using the operating system's native data-protection facility (Windows Data Protection API, DPAPI). The encrypted token is tied to your Windows user account, so other users or applications on the device cannot read it.
• Local-only processing: All Gmail analysis is performed locally on your device. Email content and metadata are never transmitted to, stored on, or processed by FeeHunt servers or any third party.
• Least-privilege access: FeeHunt requests only the minimum OAuth scopes required and accesses your Gmail data solely to perform the actions you initiate (scanning, and cleanup actions you explicitly approve).
• Retention and deletion: Scan results and settings remain on your device and can be deleted by you at any time by removing the local FeeHunt files. You can revoke FeeHunt's access to your Gmail at any time through your Google Account permissions, after which the stored token can no longer be used.

FeeHunt's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Minimal Data Collection

FeeHunt should collect only the minimum data required to operate, support licensing, improve reliability, and provide customer support.

No Selling User Data

FeeHunt does not sell user data and should not sell, rent, or trade Gmail data, scan results, or personal account information.

Future Payment and Licensing

Public launch licensing and payment features may require account, billing, and license data. Payment processing should be handled by a trusted payment provider such as Stripe. FeeHunt should not store raw payment card data.

User Control

• Revoke Gmail access through your Google account
• Delete local FeeHunt files from your computer
• Cancel paid subscriptions through a clear self-service flow
